1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Librai mobile application for iOS and Android, the website at librai.app, and all related services (collectively, the “Service”). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Librai is a reading application that allows you to import, organise, and read digital books and documents in various formats (including PDF, EPUB, MOBI, FB2, and CBZ). The Service includes:

• A configurable reader with typography controls, bionic reading mode, and RSVP speed reading.
• A personal library with reading statistics, highlights, and progress tracking.
• Learning paths — curated or AI-generated ordered reading lists.
• An optional in-panel AI assistant for book-scoped questions.
• Book discovery and web search features.

3. Account & Device Registration

Your account is automatically created when you first open the app using a unique device identifier. No email, password, or personal information is required. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device. If your device is lost or wiped, locally stored data cannot be recovered by us.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

4.1 Free Tier

The Free tier provides the full reader for PDF files, a library of up to three books, and limited use of AI, search, scanning, and learning-path features (subject to daily caps).

4.2 Pro Subscription

Pro unlocks all supported file formats, an unlimited library, unlimited speed reading, and unrestricted access to AI, search, scanning, and learning-path features. Pro is a recurring monthly subscription.

4.3 Payment & Cancellation

All purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not collect or store your payment credentials. You may cancel at any time through your device’s app store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund policies are governed by the applicable app store.

5. Your Content

“Your Content” means files, documents, highlights, annotations, or other materials you import into or create within the Service. You retain all ownership rights. You represent that you have the legal right to use all content you import. You shall not use the Service to infringe any third party’s intellectual property rights.

We do not access or moderate Your Content as it resides locally on your device. Text you submit to the AI assistant is processed as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application, except where permitted by law.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including circumventing rate limits or usage caps.
• Access another user's account or data.
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.

7. AI Features

The in-panel AI assistant and related features are provided for informational purposes only. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies and does not constitute professional advice. You are solely responsible for how you use AI-generated content.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and brand marks, is our property and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or brand features.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY US DOLLARS (US $50), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app. To request deletion of server-side data, contact us at the address below. Sections 5, 8, 9, and 10 survive termination.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to revised Terms, stop using the Service.

13. General

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Librai regarding the Service.
